Free software or swatantra/libre software is software that can be used, studied, and modified without restriction, and which can be copied and redistributed in modified or unmodified form either without restriction, or with minimal restrictions only to ensure that further recipients are also guranteed these freedoms.
We are a team of individuals from the IT-Education sectors involved in various free software related technical activities in Karnataka. Our interest is in strengthening the technical skills of our students and professionals using the various possibilities of free software.
IBM
IBM has been present in India since 1992. Since inception, IBM in India has expanded its operations considerably with regional headquarters in Bangalore and offices in 14 cities including regional offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Today, the company has established itself as one of the leaders in the Indian Information Technology (IT) Industry.
CMRIT
The institute came into existence in October 2000. In a short span, the institution has made its mark in discipline, academics, cultural and sports activities. The institute is situated on the IT Park Road, between the airport and the international Technology Park (ITPL). The institute is in the IT corridor of the state and is surrounded by many software and hardware companies.
The institute is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, approved by AICTE, New Delhi and recognized by the Government of Karnataka. The institute follows a well designed curriculum comprehensive of competitive, Technical and managerial skills for 6 UG & 2 PG Programs.
